The Story

Simon Harris thinks he has been living a lie his entire life dealing with his mother leaving him. The lie encircles around his father, with whom he thinks has done injustice. Simon pushes his father away from his life, his friends and soon everything. Once he is sent to boarding school, he meets up with laid back, Andrew (Eric Mabius) who has only one true interest in his life: music, and with that said comes a whole new line of experiences in Simon's life, when Andrew takes him to a concert where Simon meets up with Trace (Colman Domingo), Jennifer (Tara Reid) and Kevin (Henri Lubatti). They treat him like he belongs there and make him have more fun than he had ever been! With all that fun, he gets mixed up in drugs and finds himself losing his friends because of the consequences dealing with them.

Set back in the hippie era, this movie takes the audience inside the world of drugs and how they influence your life — and captures the turning point of a boy to a man. In the end — will Simon find out the truth about his father and escape the pressures of dealing with drugs?

Movie Reviews (by the fans!)

Critic: Jess
Movie being reviewed: Around the Fire

Overall, the whole movie was great! There weren't any bad scenes, boring scenes, or stupid scenes. In my opinion, it was Devon's best movie, sad thing is it wasn't that noticeable.

Devon played an excellant Simon, a teen who must choose between the materialistic life his father has chosen for him or to live life freely as it comes. In this movie, you can really see how good of an actor Devon is. While watching the film, it's so good that you don't even notice it's really Devon, you think it's real and Devon is really Simon, and you can see his point of view on things.

When Simon is upset, you're upset. When he's really mad, you feel mad and when he's happy, you are happy. All of Devon's emotions in this movie are awesome! I definitly recommend this movie, not just to Devon fans, but to everyone.
